Ximena Ayala is an Ariel Award winning actress and writer from Mexico. Past San Diego Latino Film Festival special guest, she’s best known for Perfume de Violetas (2001), Bajo el mismo cielo (2015), Malos Habitos (2007), Los insólitos peces gato (2013), & the hit tv series Capadocia (2010-2012).

has starred in various soap operas such as Soy Tu Fan,  ‘Al norte del corazón’, ‘Señora’,’Romántica obsesión’ (for which she won the Sol de Oro award in 1999 for Best New Actress) and ‘Amor latino’. Her big screen debut in the role of Valentina in _ El cometa (1999)_ by Marisa Sistach, for which she was nominated for the Ariel award for Best New Actress. Her performance as Amelia in El crimen del padre Amaro (2002) with Gael García Bernal, gave her an international recognition. Other movies include Fast Food Nation, Arrancame la Vida & more!

Fernanda Castillo was born on March 24, 1982 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico as María Fernanda Castillo García. She is an actress, best known for such Telenovelas as El Señor de los Cielos(2013), Valiant Love (2012) and Teresa (2010). She also co-starred in Gael Garcia Bernal’s drama, Deficit.
